Peter Wilch is vice president for development at the University of San Francisco. Upon arriving in June 2012, he initiated a program assessment; recommendations to provide sustained revenue growth were approved by the Board of Trustees in December 2012. When fully operationalized, the plan will represent a 75 percent increase in staffing, a 50 percent increase in base budget and an 250 percent increase in revenue over a ten-year period. In years one and two, 24 staff were added and revenue targets were exceeded.
Previously, Wilch served as vice president for alumni and college advancement at Cornell College; there he led a successful comprehensive campaign, Extraordinary Opportunities: The Campaign for Cornell, which raised $105.8M on a $92M goal. The total included 23 gifts of $1 million or more with nearly 60 percent of the college's alumni giving to the campaign.
Prior to Cornell, he served as executive director of development for the University of Iowa College of Law; raising $48.4M on a $35M goal as part of the University wide $1B Good.Better.Best campaign. He also worked as a major gift officer at Grinnell College where his efforts built upon the institution's $2B endowment and funded the science facility and athletic facility campaigns.
Wilch holds a B.A. in philosophy and politics from Cornell College and he has completed graduate work at the University of Iowa Tippie School of Management. He has four children; two are currently students at the University of San Francisco.
